My sister Lynda treated me to a fabulous turning 50 Birthday Bash in celebration of having my poetry showcased at the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, NY on August 19th, 2021.
She said that she wanted to celebrate me in this milestone Birthday for all the many things I've been through as it was not easy but at the same time it is victorious. I am a person who has survived much and indeed have a story to tell. I have lived out loud its many chapters and as always there is something thrilling about embarking on a New Chapter...
There is nobody that knows me like my best friend who just happens to be my sister. She has been there for me through everything thus far so being a woman and turning 50 with her by my side is nothing to fear but everything to celebrate! She has made me feel nothing short of a Goddess in the ways that she has loved me and pampered me with this vacation in Syracuse, NY. August is finally a time for me to celebrate as I have changed its meaning in deeply personal and profound ways. My poem, "Giving Light to New Eyes" will be showcased at the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, NY until September 26th then it will be on a traveling display until the Spring of 2022. I give special thanks to the ARISE Foundation in Syracuse for giving me this opportunity to share my work with others and to be published in UNIQUE Magazine 2021.
This is a New Chapter and its only the beginning....
