One of the ways I spread my light is by baking goodies and sharing them with my neighbors in my little corner of the world. I specifically love to bake bread. I’ve been doing it since I was nine years old. I love everything about making bread in what I affectionately call my kitchen, “Kimberly’s Kitchen”. I love the whole process and I make it from scratch without a dough hook. I really love kneading it, throwing it down onto the table, spanking it, and then lovingly doing it all again for 10 minutes. I put my all into my bread! My neighbors have always been able to get some no matter where I’ve lived. I think of it as spreading my light and what joy I get out of sharing it when I always deliver it warm with butter slathered on top of it. I have been doing this for over 30 years now! I am known as “the bread Lady!” The recipe I use is from a bread book I received from my mother-in-law of my first marriage, called Sister Virginia’s Daily Loaf.
I’ve also been known to make meals for others and deliver them. From a fish dinner just for two with a small bottle of white wine to homemade lasagna or spaghetti with meatballs for a friend who lives just down the street.
My home is my sanctuary and I love emanating love inside and out of it.
