What Does Meditation Look Like?

I speak of starting my morning every day meditating. What does this look like? For me it is different every day. Sometimes it is a serene listening and viewing of positive images I find online. I do this for about an hour before my day starts with other people that make up my life. A good meditation site is Spirit Tribe Awakening. It is peaceful, soothing, and the images are empowering.

Sometimes my meditation starts by listening to the sounds of Barbara Streisand's Higher Ground Album. I find her voice to be the voice I wish I had. She can hit all the notes I can't and her spiritual strength is evident in her music.

After peaceful reflection and often when other's start to awaken in my household I may switch my music time with more of an active meditation listening to Concrete Blonde, Arabian Nights, or anything I can dance to in my kitchen as I start doing the dishes.

My meditation time always incorporates going outside at some point and viewing real time nature off of my deck. I often view the moon as it makes its rotation off of the horizon and disappears as I welcome in the sun. I love taking pictures and I can often capture a moment in time that I want to freeze frame in my memory. Along with this accompanies the sweet sound of birds and I pray prayers of thanks to Almighty God for blessing me with these gifts at my Forever Home on Crest View Drive.

Sometimes my meditations are walking meditations as I love to go for walks at the Department of Environmental Conservation trails in Dadville. This picture was taken by my daughter, Sunsetta, on one of our family outings.

You could say that my life has become a meditation, because when chaos does ensue I can draw from these times and they add to my inner strength. I have been taught that everything can be a meditation and you can hold onto the millpond even in times of stress. Meditation is a practice and way of looking at the world with all of your senses.
